KESA Academy Financial Assistance Policy project

Kibera Elite Soccer Academy (KESA) is dedicated to associate and organize a focused pathway for the total development of football players in Kibera and its environs, providing them with the opportunity to play at the highest level of competition possible. KESA understands that participating in competitive soccer requires a greater financial commitment than recreational football and strives to help players/families who need financial assistance in a way that benefits players, their families and the club. The club believes that the inability to pay should not present a barrier to players' participation. Requests for financial assistance will be considered on an individual basis and evaluated based upon player/family need, available registration fee, scholarship training funding and to demonstrate the player commitment.

Our plans, tasks and achievements:-

·          To work with 200 players. 100 on bursaries and 100 paying players ( we have achieved to register 8 paying players 7boys and 1 girl.)

·          To organize soccer camps and bring in coaches from different parts of the world at least once every 2 years. This year, our first soccer camp will be in April 2021 with local coaches.

·          To participate in both local and International tournaments.

·          To affiliate with local and international clubs and academies to health players get exposure and further their sports skills. We have managed working with two soccer clubs by signing with them our players on loan.

·          To create a strong girls team. ( we have 16 girls/players in our team ).

This project has been in place since the beginning of this year and has been faced with lots of challenges. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the whole world thus having the paying players getting registered in our academy has been very low. Our target is to register at least 20 paying players in every quarter of the year. So far we have registered 8 players hoping to have more in April Soccer camp.

The biggest task has been lack of appropriate gears and inadequate playing ground for our 100 bursary players. In order to reach more clients, we are going to put a lot more energy on branding, which include kitting the 100 players, coaching and management with branded KESA kits.

The biggest challenge has been paying the artificial soccer field rent which we use every Saturday and Sundays at a costly fee with low turnout on the paying players. We have secured a grass field with lower cost which we shall use for our Sunday soccer activities which will include soccer matches/games as well

BELOW IS THE TOTAL EXPENDITURE IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS.

A.         ACADEMY INCOME. Eur 600

•       Donations ( Money received from ONGD Youncanyole Expediciones ) = EUR 200

•       Paying players ( 7 boys and 1 girl )= Eur 400

B.         OPERATIONAL EXPENSES (OPEX) last three months = Eur 1,740

•       Soccer field 32 hours per month = Eur 480 ( 3 months Eur 1,440 )

•       Lunch for the 8 volunteers per month ( coaches, admins, physios ) = Eur 100 ( 3months Eur 300 )

C.         ADMINISTRATION COST= Eur 85

·         Car hire to transport coaches, staff members and equipments to the field = Eur 80 ( 3months Eur240)

·         Printing of registration forms = Eur 5

D. PLANS FOR THE SECOND QUARTER

·         A soccer camp in April to register more paying players

·         Import soccer kits brand and make sales which will help us raise funding for the club

·         Use of both grass and artificial turf field. This will cut the cost of the high monthly expenses from the current EUR 480 TO EUR 240

Kibera Elite Soccer Academy (KESA) se dedica a asociar y organizar un camino enfocado para el desarrollo total de los jugadores de fútbol en Kibera y sus alrededores, brindándoles la oportunidad de jugar al más alto nivel de competencia posible. KESA entiende que participar en fútbol competitivo requiere un mayor compromiso financiero que el fútbol recreativo y se esfuerza por ayudar a los jugadores / familias que necesitan asistencia financiera de una manera que beneficie a los jugadores, sus familias y el club. El club cree que la imposibilidad de pagar no debería representar una barrera para la participación de los jugadores. Las solicitudes de asistencia financiera se considerarán de forma individual y se evaluarán en función de las necesidades del jugador / familia, la tarifa de inscripción disponible, la financiación de la formación de becas y para demostrar el compromiso del jugador.

Nuestros planes, tareas y logros: -

 Para trabajar con 200 jugadores. 100 en becas y 100 jugadores de pago (hemos logrado registrar 8 jugadores de pago, 7 niños y 1 niña).

 Organizar campamentos de fútbol y traer entrenadores de diferentes partes del mundo al menos una vez cada 2 años. Este año, nuestro primer campamento de fútbol será en abril de 2021 con entrenadores locales.

 Participar en torneos tanto locales como internacionales.

 Afiliarse a clubes y academias locales e internacionales para que los jugadores de salud obtengan exposición y mejoren sus habilidades deportivas. Hemos logrado trabajar con dos clubes de fútbol fichando con ellos a nuestros jugadores cedidos.

 Crear un equipo de chicas fuerte. (tenemos 16 chicas / jugadoras en nuestro equipo).

Este proyecto ha estado en marcha desde principios de este año y se ha enfrentado a muchos desafíos. La pandemia de Covid-19 ha afectado a todo el mundo, por lo que el registro de jugadores que pagan en nuestra academia ha sido muy bajo. Nuestro objetivo es registrar al menos 20 jugadores de pago en cada trimestre del año. Hasta el momento hemos registrado 8 jugadores con la esperanza de tener más en el campamento de fútbol de abril.

La tarea más importante ha sido la falta de equipos adecuados y un terreno de juego inadecuado para nuestros 100 becarios. Para llegar a más clientes, vamos a poner mucha más energía en la marca, que incluye equipar a los 100 jugadores, entrenar y gestionar con los kits de la marca KESA.

El mayor desafío ha sido pagar el alquiler de la cancha de fútbol artificial que usamos todos los sábados y domingos a una tarifa costosa con baja participación de los jugadores que pagan. Hemos asegurado un campo de césped con un costo más bajo que usaremos para nuestras actividades de fútbol dominicales que también incluirán partidos / juegos de fútbol.

A CONTINUACIÓN ESTÁ EL GASTO TOTAL EN LOS ÚLTIMOS TRES MESES.

A. INGRESOS DE LA ACADEMIA. 600 euros

• Donaciones (Dinero recibido de ONGD Youncanyole Expediciones) = 200 EUR

• Jugadores que pagan (7 niños y 1 niña) = 400 euros

B. GASTOS OPERATIVOS (OPEX) últimos tres meses = 1.740 euros

• Campo de fútbol 32 horas al mes = 480 euros (3 meses 1440 euros)

• Almuerzo para los 8 voluntarios por mes (entrenadores, administradores, fisioterapeutas) = ​​100 euros (3 meses 300 euros)

C. COSTE DE ADMINISTRACIÓN = 85 euros

 Alquiler de coche para transportar autocares, miembros del personal y equipos al campo = 80 euros (3 meses 240 euros)
